Steven B. Smith, Founder and President of CAST, has a rich history in instructional ministry. Growing up in a non-Christian home, Steve would have been considered an unlikely candidate for ministry and church leadership. However, he began public speaking at the remarkable young age of thirteen years old, and later in his teen years, he began traveling to speak in churches and meetings across the nation, launching him into more than 32 years of full-time ministry since that time.

During 20 years of this time, Steve served as a Senior Associate Pastor and as Administrator/Executive Pastor of Operations for Life Christian Church in St. Louis, Missouri, overseeing a $6.5 million budget and managing a staff of 100 for the 2,500-member congregation.

Presently, Steve functions as Associate Minister of Global Messenger Service, a worldwide missions organization dedicated to making an impact around the world through leadership training and church planting. Having authored three books printed in three different languages, Steve has also created and maintains a weekly email distribution called ”E-Hope,” a brief narrative sent free to subscribers around the world, offering practical and life-giving encouragement in readers’ daily pursuit of Christ.

In his passion to share the financial wisdom and knowledge he has gained from his life as an administrator, Steve has developed and implemented programs such as his “Understanding Money Matters” financial workshop that he presents to local church congregations across the United States.

Steve thrives on opportunities to help individuals and families in understanding how to successfully manage their finances. His vision for C.A.S.T. was birthed out of his desire to extend his sphere of assistance to also providing support to pastors and their staffs as they seek to balance the responsibilities of caring for their congregations and wisely managing the resources available to them. Steve combines his years of personal and ministry experience with solid business principles and biblical guidelines in order to help pastors facilitate order in their churches’ financial, administrative, and staffing structures.
